Hanging columella can present as a primary complaint or secondary after initial rhinoplasty. When there is adequate septum a tongue-in-groove manuever to suture suspend and secure the medial crura of the nasal cartilage is the preferred technique.

Dr Mao, is extremely professional, and yet, quite a character. He took the time to explain everything, (along with an awesome team, the staff nurses. 10/10) .....the options available n even explaining why I wasn't a good fit for a much higher price procedure. PA Arissa was AMAZING for my injections. I’ve been to numerous doctors in San Francisco and across the country, and her results have been my favorite. She really listened to what I was looking for (as natural as possible, lifting up my eyes, etc) and her injections were really well done. No bruising and minimal swelling. After talking with my injector we decided on one syringe of Juvederm Ultra, and my injector, Arissa Schweiss, was absolutely fantastic. Before the procedure, she took the time to explain everything to me in detail, from the ingredients in the Juvederm Ultra filler to what I could expect during and after the injection process. I saw Arissa the PA at Dr. Mao's office for a liquid facelift and I wish there were more than 5 stars to give! From the moment I walked into the office I was blown away. I came to Dr.Mao’s for liquid rhinoplasty and walked away extremely happy and satisfied with the results. Dr. Mao's physician's assistant Arrisa performed the injections with precision and she did an amazing job and I couldn’t be any happier. The before and after photos speak for themselves. She gave me a bridge and a more defined nose where before, it was wider and I always struggled to keep my glasses on. With my new nose came a slimmer face even tho none were injected in my cheeks. My experience with Dr Mao, Arissa , Amanda and all staff was beyond my expectations! If I could rate higher it’s a 10++ I had been contemplating a neck lift for several years. From my first consultation through my recovery, the level of care was top notch. Dr. Mao is very down to earth which immediately put me at ease . Dr. Mao’s expertise helped me determine the work that best aligned with my rejuvenation goals. I ended choosing to do face lift ,neck lift and my eyes. With his signature artistic eye, he repaired and shaped my earlobes in a way that was so natural, that his modifications were undetectable! Dr. Johnny Mao is by far the best plastic surgeon I have found in the metropolitan area. His expertise and artistic eye have afforded me the facelift and necklift I have desired for many years. My results have been noticeable, yet natural, which is a balance that is not often attained by most surgeons. I feel and look refreshed with a smoother, more supple, yet firm appearance. My neck is sculpted and without wrinkles now! As a follow up, I elected to have a Fractional CO2, in order to remove dark spots and sun damage, and believe me, it enhanced the work Dr Mao did during surgery! I wholeheartedly endorse Dr. Mao's work, as his professionalism, care, and execution of his craft are all to which every plastic surgeon should aspire. His staff, and especially his nurse, Amanda, mirror his commitment to his patients. I have been a patient of Dr. Mao for several years and have had multiple procedures done. This last one was a second facelift. At first, my face swelled up so bad that I couldn't recognize myself. But after 2-3 weeks, I saw big improvements. The wrinkles to the sides of my mouth are gone. My face looks more slim and lifted. My jawlines are crisp! Over the last couple years, I have had several rounds of Botox and fillers from Dr. Mao, and the experience and result were extremely positive. At first, my intent was to explore options to correct asymmetry between my eyebrows and a surgery timeline for my droopy eye lids. Dr. Mao explained in detail what surgical procedure can do and possible side effects and risks. In the end, he recommended that I start with Botox and fillers first. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. His injection points actually lifted one of my eye brows, making them look more symmetrical. The fillers compensated my loss of collagen from aging. All in all, no one believed I have lived half a century, and if someone asks what my secret is, I am afraid Dr. Mao would be part of the answers! I am still looking at the timeline for him to lift my lids... I wouldn't go to anyone else but him.
